My air fryer almost caught fire making bacon
I was at my apartment in Portland last Tuesday, cranked it to 400F for crispy bacon like every recipe says, and within 5 minutes smoke was pouring out like crazy. Turns out the grease pooled under the basket and hit the heating element, almost went up in flames. Has anyone else had a close call with fatty meats in these things?

Nah man, 400F is way too hot for bacon in an air fryer. Try 350F max and pull it out a minute or two before you think it's done to let the residual heat finish it.
