Had to pick between a $400 Snap-On ratchet set or a $90 Craftsman set when I started out at a shop in Tulsa.
I went with the Craftsman and three years later I've replaced two of them under warranty while the other guy's Snap-On still works like new, so was it really the better choice long term?

Right? The warranty game is real though. I did the same thing with a socket set and I'm on my third replacement while my buddy's Snap-On stuff just keeps going. Kinda makes you wonder if the upfront cost is worth the headache.

My buddy Craig bought a cheap impact gun from Harbor Freight and it lasted exactly 47 days before the trigger gave out. He took it back and they swapped it no questions, but the third one seized up on him while he was doing brake work on a Toyota Tundra. Meanwhile my old neighbor's Ingersoll Rand has been going for 15 years and he's never even had to think about the warranty... sometimes you just pay for peace of mind I guess.
