Just read that over 30% of false alarms in monitored systems come from user error on keypads, not equipment failure. Found it in an old industry report from 2019.

So we spent all that money on fancy alarm systems just to have people forget their own codes? Classic. I can picture someone's dad right now, standing there at 2 AM mashing buttons while the siren blares. Maybe the real security threat is just human beings being bad at basic number pads.

True story, my neighbor's alarm went off for 45 minutes because he forgot his code and the company's after hours line was just a recording. The system locked him out completely.
