I thought those new quick-set concrete additives were just a gimmick, but trying one on a small patio job in Lethbridge last fall proved me wrong.
The stuff actually let us finish the pour and stamp in under 4 hours before a surprise cold snap hit, so has anyone else found a specific brand or situation where these additives actually saved a project?

That cold snap would have wrecked a normal pour for sure. It's a huge relief when a product actually works as advertised under pressure. What brand did you end up using?

Heard some guys at the supply house talking about how some of the cheaper mixes just don't have the right additives for that kind of weather... they said it's all about the calcium chloride content. Guess yours had the good stuff mixed in right.
