Used a $12 diamond cup wheel on my patio slab instead of renting the $200 scarifier, way better call
Had to strip about 300 sq ft of old thinset and paint off my back patio slab in the Northeast Heights before I could lay new tile. Rented the big walk behind scarifier from the place on Menaul for a weekend and it was $200 plus it chewed up the concrete way more than I wanted. Took it back after one day and grabbed a $12 diamond cup wheel for my angle grinder instead. Took me a full Saturday and my arms were toast, but the finish was way smoother and I didn't gouge any low spots. If your slab is under 400 sq ft just go with the grinder, the rental is only worth it on big jobs. Anyone else skip the fancy rental tools for a cheap attachment that just works?
