Had to choose between subbed and dubbed for Vinland Saga S2

I went with subs after hearing the dub changed some key dialogue in season 1, and honestly I don't regret it but I miss being able to look away from the screen. Anyone else have a show where the language choice actually changed how you felt about the story?

wait wait wait... they changed dialogue in season 1? like plot important stuff or just wording? that's wild i had no idea. @king.ruby you went through the same thing with AOT huh, that show is brutal for missing frames but the voices hit different.

Honestly I had the same dilemma with Attack on Titan way back. I stuck with subs even though it meant missing some visuals during action scenes. Ended up feeling more connected to the original voice performances though.

oh man, @king.ruby you get it completely. the first time i watched steins;gate i made the mistake of going dub and i swear the main character sounded like a totally different person, way too cheerful. it totally threw off the whole vibe of the show for me. i switched to subs for the rewatch and it was like watching a different series, so much more intense and real. now i pretty much always go subs first even if it means i miss a split second of action, the voice acting just carries the emotion better.
