Got yelled at in Home Depot for asking about PVC glue
I was in the plumbing aisle last Saturday trying to figure out which cement to use for a sink drain. A guy in an orange apron snapped at me saying 'read the label' like I was wasting his time. Has anyone else had a random store employee just lose it on them for no reason?

Man @harris.uma hit the nail on the head, those Ace Hardware guys are usually retired tradesmen who actually enjoy helping. I had a guy there spend twenty minutes walking me through the right fittings for a weird old sink trap, no attitude at all. Big box stores just seem to have people who are over it, which sucks because you're just trying to do a simple fix.

Oh I feel you! That same thing happened to me at Lowe's when I asked about solvent for ABS pipe. The guy literally rolled his eyes and walked away. What worked for me was going to a smaller hardware store instead, the Ace Hardware near me has old-timers who actually explain stuff. They walked me through which glue to use for PVC vs ABS and even showed me how to prime it right. Big box stores are just too busy or something, the employees seem burned out.
