Showerthought: I used to laugh at the old guys who swore by hand sanding for feathering edges
Had a 2018 F-150 with a deep scratch that needed blending, and my DA just kept leaving a visible line no matter what grit I tried. My boss, a guy who's been at this since the 80s, handed me a block and some 800 grit and said 'watch the dust, not the tool'. After 20 minutes of just going by feel, the transition was perfect. Anyone else have a 'low tech' method that actually works better on certain jobs?

My uncle, a cabinetmaker for 40 years, says the same thing about hand-planing doors.
