That moment the quarter panel on a '68 Mustang started to buckle on me
I was in my shop in Tacoma last Tuesday, trying to fit a new quarter panel. The metal started to buckle right at the wheel arch, a classic oil-canning issue. I stopped, walked away for ten minutes, then came back and used a shrinking disc on the low heat setting. It took the tension right out and let me finish the weld line clean. Anyone else have a go-to fix for that sudden buckle in old sheet metal?

That shrinking disc trick is a lifesaver for sure.

Ever had that happen right when you think you're almost done? @grant.jade is right about the disc, but sometimes you need to get creative. I've had luck using a torch and a wet rag on the high spot, just a quick tap to pull it back. It's all about finding where the tension is hiding, you know?
