Can we talk about those $30 diagnostic code readers from the auto parts store

I always thought they were junk compared to my shop's scanner, but one helped me find a weird misfire code on my neighbor's truck that my tool missed... anyone else had a cheap tool surprise them?

My old cheap tent held up through a surprise rainstorm last year. It wasn't fancy but it kept me dry when I had nothing else. Sometimes you just get lucky with the bargain stuff.

Cheap stuff works until it breaks at the worst time. Wadefoster, you're being way too nice about it. Most of that junk fails when you actually need it. Saving a few bucks isn't worth the hassle later.
