Had a coolant hose blow off right as I pulled into a drive-thru
It happened yesterday afternoon at the Burger King on Maple Street. I was just getting a soda when I heard a loud pop and saw steam pouring from under the hood. The lower radiator hose clamp had failed completely, dumping coolant all over the hot asphalt. I had to push the car out of the line with the manager's help while it sounded like a kettle. Anyone have a favorite brand for those constant-tension hose clamps that actually holds up?

I always bought the cheap worm gear clamps from the parts store. Had one fail on my truck's heater hose last winter, left me stranded in a parking lot. After that, I switched to the constant tension clamps from Gates. They have a spring inside that keeps pressure even when the hose shrinks from cold. Haven't had a single issue since, even through big temperature swings.

Glad you learned that lesson before I did, @averym82.
