Shoutout to the old guy at the hangar who told me to use a heat gun on a stubborn cannon plug

I was fighting a jammed connector for an hour, and his trick to gently warm the housing worked in under 2 minutes. Anyone else have a weird but effective trick that goes against the book?

Careful with that heat gun, it can mess up the plastic real easy. I mean, a hair dryer on low is way safer for most of those plugs. Seen guys melt the housing trying to rush it.

Yeah the "melt the housing" part is too real lol. My buddy tried to fix a game controller with a heat gun and ended up warping the whole trigger. It looked like a sad piece of modern art. He had to order a whole new shell, total pain. Sometimes the slower way is just better.

Tell your buddy I feel his pain. Seen it happen too many times. Henry763 is right, a hair dryer on low is the move. Heat guns are just too much for most plastic. Turns a simple fix into a whole mess real quick. Patience saves money.
