Spent 4 hours tracing a ghost wire on a Gulfstream G550 last Thursday

Last Thursday I was working on a G550 at our hangar in Miami. There was this intermittent fault in the nav system that kept popping up on post-flight checks. I spent 4 hours chasing a wire that looked fine on the schematic but turned out to be chafed inside a conduit bundle near the bulkhead. The insulation was barely split, just enough to arc when the plane hit turbulence. Has anyone else dealt with hidden chafing like that, or do I just need better inspection habits?

Ain't 4 hours just normal troubleshooting on a Gulfstream?
