Just realized I've been putting my suet feeder in the wrong spot for years

I saw a downy woodpecker struggling to land on it yesterday because it was swinging too much in the wind. Has anyone else found a good spot that's sheltered but still easy for them to use?

Wait you had it swinging free in the wind this whole time? That's wild, mine would be a total mess. I screwed a hook into the side of my shed under the eaves, keeps it pretty still.

Yeah, the hook under the eaves thing... it's funny how we all have these little fixes for stuff the world throws at us. Like using a rubber band to keep a charger cord from falling behind the desk, or a book to prop up a wobbly table leg. We're just constantly patching things up against chaos.
