Spent $40 on a UV-treated hummingbird feeder and it cracked in 3 weeks
The plastic turned cloudy and brittle after two heat waves in July and the whole thing split at the seam dripping sugar water all over my deck, anyone else had those fancy UV feeders fail that fast?

$40 for a glorified lightbulb that couldn't survive a little sunshine. That's about right. Sounds like they slapped "UV treated" on the box and called it a day. Maybe the next one will be made of that special plastic that only melts in nuclear summer. Got any recommendations for a feeder that doesn't turn into a sprinkler system?

Hold on man, $40 for a feeder is like... a couple of pizzas. Is it really that big of a deal? @kimr33 I get being annoyed but most of these things are kinda junk if you leave 'em in the sun all summer. I'd just find a cheap metal one or something and not worry too much about it melting. Seems like overthinking a plastic bucket with a hole in it.
