inHit 1,000 shutter repairs last month and didn't even notice until I checked my log
Read somewhere that Copal shutters from that era had lubricant issues because the original stuff was plant based and basically turned to glue over time. Makes sense why so many of those 70s and 80s cameras show up with sticky blades needing a full clean. 1,000 repairs is a solid number either way.

inJust found out Shimano changed their B-link spec 3 years ago and nobody told me
Wait, is it really the B-link angle that changed? I thought the main difference was the B-screw thread pitch on the 12-speed stuff. Maybe I'm remembering wrong but I had to swap out my adjusting screw too.

inCable mess behind my desk made my PC overheat during a raid last night
85 degrees is not even that hot for a GPU, those things are rated to run way hotter than that. Unless your room was already a sauna, I doubt zip ties behind a case were the main problem. Sounds like one of those things where you change a bunch of stuff at once and then pick the one you want to blame. Probably just needed to clean the dust out of the heatsink and call it a day.

inHot take: I think 1 inch flex lines for gas connections are too weak
And it's the same story everywhere, not just gas lines. I've noticed how everything from appliance cords to water heater hoses gets made thinner every year, just barely passing the minimum. Seems like we're all chasing that cheap price tag until something fails and costs way more to fix.
