That afternoon I spent 4 hours leveling a 10x12 shed base only to find out my neighbor's dog dug a trench through it the next morning

Came back with a fresh cup of coffee ready to start framing and just stood there staring at a 3-foot ditch right where my corner gravel was, has anyone else had their hard work ruined by a sneaky pet or animal?

...and that's when you realize it's not even about the work you lost, it's about the fact that you just KNOW some critter is out there laughing at you while you're standing there with your coffee in hand. I swear, it's like animals have a sixth sense for when you've just finished something. They wait until you walk away, then boom, instant destruction. My sister's dog once dug up her entire flowerbed the day after she planted it, and she literally just stood there crying over some marigolds lol. It's almost like the universe has a rule that anything you build or plant has a target on its back the second you turn around.

My neighbor's cat pulled a move like this last spring and I used to think people were exaggerating about animals timing things. I had just finished repotting this little pepper plant on my back porch, went inside to wash my hands, came back maybe two minutes later. The cat was sitting next to the pot with the plant pulled out and dirt scattered everywhere like it was some kind of performance art. Honestly I get it now. There's no way that was random.
