My car died in the rain outside a small town diner in Ohio

It was pouring and my old truck just quit on the highway. I got it to the shoulder and walked a mile to this little place called Dot's. I was soaked and mad. The waitress, Dot herself, gave me a free coffee and let me use her phone. Her husband came out after his shift and gave my battery a jump with his own truck. Anyone ever had a stranger help them out like that when you were really stuck?

Yeah, those little moments of kindness really stick with you...

Notice how those moments always pop up when you least expect them, too. Kinda like the universe is reminding us that not everything is terrible out there. It seems like the small stuff actually does more for people than any grand gesture ever could. Makes me think most folks are just walking around waiting for a chance to be decent to someone, if you give them the opening.
