Went to the new park by the river and saw something that changed my whole view on bad days

I was having a rough day yesterday after my car battery died, so I walked to that new park on Elm Street. I saw this older guy just sitting on a bench feeding pigeons for like an hour straight, looking totally at peace. Everyone online says you need big, planned activities to turn a day around, but this guy proved that wrong. He told me he comes every Tuesday, and it just resets his week. It made me think maybe we try too hard to fix bad days with stuff that costs money or takes effort. Has anyone else found a simple, free spot that just makes things better?

Funny how the simplest things work best, right? My spot is a truck stop diner counter where I just watch the road. It costs nothing and just lets my brain quiet down for a bit.

Sounds like you're making a hobby out of staring at asphalt. Does it really quiet your brain, or does it just give you a new thing to overthink?
