I used to proof my sourdough in a bowl with a towel. Switched to a clear plastic tub.

For years, I just used a big ceramic bowl with a kitchen towel over it. The dough would stick and I could never see how much it rose. Last month, I got a cheap 12-quart clear tub from the store. I can mark the side with tape to track the rise, and the dough slides right out. It made my shaping way easier and my loaves more even. What other small changes have made a big difference for you?

Try a wet dough scraper for the tub cleanup.

You mentioned using tape to mark the rise on your tub. That's a great trick, but a dry-erase marker works even better. It wipes right off and you can make new marks each time without the sticky residue.
