Clipper dropped mid-fade on a paying client yesterday
I was doing a skin fade on a regular at my chair in Queens around 3 PM, and my Wahl Legend just slipped and crashed onto the tile floor. The blade gap got knocked out of alignment, and I had to switch to my backup clipper mid-section while the guy just stared at my reflection. Has another barber had a tool fail at the worst possible moment and had to improvise fast?

Clippers dropping is just part of the job sometimes man... everybody acts like it's a disaster but you handled it fine. You had a backup ready and kept working, that's what matters. The customer probably didn't even notice the switch if you kept your cool. Blaming the tool feels like an excuse when you could have just adjusted the blade gap on the spot with a screwdriver in 30 seconds.

Dropped my clippers on a client's head once. Not the floor, their actual head. Dude had a full bald spot for a week and still tipped me. You're right though, people overreact to the clipper drop like it's a crime scene. Had a buddy who panicked so bad he fumbled the backup pair and dropped those too. Customer walked out looking like a lawnmower hit a garden gnome. Blade gap adjustment saves lives fr, learned that the hard way after chasing a fading line for 20 minutes like a fool.
