Found a working 1990s film camera for $8 at Goodwill

I was digging through the electronics bin last Saturday and spotted this old Canon point-and-shoot buried under a tangle of phone chargers. Cost me just $8 plus tax. Threw in a fresh battery and a roll of Fuji 400 I had sitting around, and it actually wound the film and fired off shots fine. Got the scans back yesterday and half the pictures came out with this cool vintage haze that my DSLR can't replicate. Anyone else stumble onto a cheap camera that gave you better results than you expected?

Cool vintage haze" is the exact reason I still shoot film sometimes. Can't get that look without spending way too much time in Lightroom.

Tried knocking down the contrast a stop and then pulling the whites back just slightly. That combo gets you about 80% of the way there without touching any sliders for tint. Also works better if you overexpose by a stop when you shoot, lets the highlights blow out softer. Saves messing with curves for fifteen minutes.
