I always thought my route was set, but a detour last month changed my mind

My usual path along 5th Avenue got blocked by road work for a whole week, so I had to find another way. I ended up cutting through the park on a gravel service road I'd always ignored. It added maybe three minutes to my trip, but it's quiet, shaded, and way less stressful than dealing with morning traffic. Has anyone else found a better route by accident?

Ever get lost and find a cool spot you never knew was there? I took a wrong turn once and ended up at this little bakery with the best donuts, lol. Now I get lost on purpose sometimes.

Honestly, my GPS once sent me down a dirt road that felt like it led to a horror movie set. I was so mad, but it dumped me out right by this amazing taco truck. My sense of direction is a JOKE, but I guess it pays off sometimes.
