Buddy in Chicago told me to watch Dark on Netflix with the German audio and subtitles, not the dub. Best TV decision I ever made.

Same thing happened to me with Money Heist. I watched the first episode dubbed and it felt like a cheesy soap opera, switched to Spanish audio and suddenly the show had actual tension.

Doesn't it just ruin a show when the acting doesn't match the mouth movements? I had almost the exact same thing happen with a Korean drama called Crash Landing on You. The English dub was so bad it sounded like they were reading from a script in a library, no emotion at all. I switched to the original Korean with subtitles and it was like a completely different show, so much more feeling and tension. Now I always give the original language a chance before I touch the dub, it makes all the difference.
