Update: My game group finally finished a 4-hour Gloomhaven scenario last Thursday
We almost gave up after 2 hours, but a rule we missed (about monster focus) turned the whole fight around. Anyone have tips for tracking long campaign game states between sessions?

Seriously, four hours for one board game night? At that point, I just start wondering if it's even fun anymore or just a chore. We tried a big campaign game once and spent more time setting up and taking notes than actually playing. Isn't the whole point to relax and hang out, not run a second job tracking every little piece?
