Found a trick for gouging carbon plate that saved me 2 hours

Switched to a 400-amp carbon arc with a 3/8 inch rod and a drag technique instead of my usual stinger method after a foreman in Gary showed me, and it cut my time on a bad weld removal in half - anyone else use this setup for heavy gouging?

Hang on, did you say a 400-amp carbon arc with a 3/8 rod for a weld removal? That sounds like overkill, I'm surprised you didn't burn straight through the plate.

Oh @brookely tell me about it, I did the same thing last month and blew a hole clean through 1/4 inch.
