Chat with a retired librarian changed how I read
She said 'you don't have to finish every book you start' and it hit me hard. I used to power through 50 pages of something boring just to say I read it. Now I put it down after 30 pages if it's not hitting. Anyone else feel guilty about giving up on a book?

Read somewhere that readers who force themselves to finish bad books end up reading less overall. That stuck with me. Put down a mystery novel about 40 pages in last week because the main character kept making stupid decisions. No shame in it. Saves time for books that actually grab you.
