Update: My book club's entire discussion plan fell apart last night

The host's internet crashed 10 minutes before our Zoom meeting, so I had to lead a 90-minute chat on 'Project Hail Mary' with zero notes. Has anyone else had to improvise a whole meeting last minute?

Remember that time my friend's PowerPoint for her birthday party game show just vanished? We had to make up trivia questions about each other on the spot (like, "What is Steve's weirdest pizza topping?"). It was actually more fun than her planned stuff. Your book club might have stumbled into a better talk without the notes.

Barbara4's story about the pizza trivia is a good point about unplanned fun, but a book club is a bit different. We're there to actually talk about the book, not just hang out. Leading a discussion on the fly for something as dense as Project Hail Mary sounds incredibly stressful. I'd be worried we'd miss the big themes and just end up rehashing the plot.
