Hot take: Watching a librarian in St. Louis repair a 1902 hymnal with wheat paste made me ditch PVA for my own paste-ups.

I saw her gently coax a torn page back into place with a brush and that slow-drying paste, something my usual PVA would have just grabbed and warped instantly.
