I always thought PVA glue was fine for everything... until last month

Been binding for 5 years and never saw the point of spending extra on paste until I did a full leather rebind on my mom's old Bible. The joints cracked after 3 weeks and I had to redo the whole thing with actual wheat paste. Anyone else swear by paste over PVA for certain projects?

PVA glue has its place for sure. Been using it for years on paper and cloth projects without any trouble at all, just have to use the right kind and make sure your joints are properly prepped. A lot of people rush their work and blame the glue when it's really about the prep work and drying time.

Honestly, that bit about "a lot of people rush their work and blame the glue" really hits home. I see that same pattern everywhere now, not just with crafts but with like, cooking or even putting furniture together. People skimp on the prep and then wonder why everything falls apart, when really the problem started way before the actual "gluing" part. It's like everyone wants the finished product but nobody wants to hang out for the boring middle part where you just wait and let things set.
