Hot take: People who say buy dried beans are ignoring the time cost

I used to preach dried beans to save money, but then a coworker pointed out that my time is worth something too. After soaking and cooking a pound of pintos for 4 hours, I realized I spent $2 to save $1.50 compared to canned. Anyone else factor in their time when picking budget ingredients?
