I just realized I've spent under $40 a day on average for my last three trips.
That includes food, a place to stay, and getting around, mostly because I started cooking hostel meals and taking overnight buses, so what's your best daily budget tip?

My last trip to Lisbon was under thirty bucks a day. I skipped the bus and just walked everywhere, which saved a ton on transport. It's surprising how much you see when you're not on a schedule.

Walking is the real hack for budget travel (and honestly, for actually seeing a place). Public transport can eat up cash fast, plus you miss all the little hidden spots. But I feel for your feet, miles825, mine are still recovering from a trip to Porto where I walked up and down every hill. Skip the bus, but bring good shoes, no joke.
