inPressure relief valve on my home boiler won't stop dripping
Ask if he matched the washer material exactly. A stiff one won't compress like the old soggy one did. Found that out after three tries on my own kitchen tap. At this point, the valve probably enjoys watching you suffer.

inMy neighbor's old book collection led to a surprising find about bindings
Yeah Victor has a point though. Trying to get the needle through those middle layers without messing up the paper is a huge pain, it's way more than just tension. You're basically sewing blind and hoping all the holes line up. Most people I know stick to a regular stitch because it's just more reliable.

inOld repair habits were better for the earth
You began fixing cameras forty years back when keeping every part was normal. I'm stunned that so many cameras get tossed out now instead of repaired. Using safe cleaners and recycling metal is a smart way to cut waste. Is it tough to get new repairers to care about old parts when new stuff is so cheap?
