I used to think cash stuffing was just a TikTok trend, but my bank account says otherwise
For months I saw those videos with people putting cash in envelopes and thought it was silly. I mean, we have apps for that, right? But after my card got skimmed at a gas pump in Springfield and I lost $200, I got mad enough to try it. I started with just my grocery money, $400 a month in a labeled envelope. The first time I went to the store and had to count out real dollars, I put back a lot of stuff I didn't need. After three months, I was spending about $75 less on food without even trying. Now I'm torn: is this just a mental trick that works because it's physical, or is there something real about limiting yourself to actual cash? Has anyone else switched to cash for a budget category and been shocked it worked?

Cash just makes you spend more on fees.

Ugh, tell me about it. I mean, I just paid like five bucks to get cash out the other day. It adds up so fast.
