My $40 pen holder turned into a huge mess

I bought a fancy magnetic pen holder online for about $40 to keep my journaling pens neat. It stuck to the side of my desk and looked great for a week. Then it fell off in the middle of the night, dropping all my pens and spilling a bottle of black ink. The ink got all over my journal and the floor. Has anyone found a pen holder that actually stays put?

Oh perfect. My own magnetic holder was so loyal it took a piece of the desk finish with it when it finally let go. At least the ink stayed in the bottle that time. I've just accepted that my pens live in an old coffee mug now. It's ugly, but it hasn't betrayed me yet.
