Vent: the minimalist spread critique that made me add more stuff

Someone on the facebook bujo group told me my weekly spread was too cluttered and I should strip it down to just the basics. I went full bare bones for like 3 weeks, just dates and tasks with no color. Real talk, it made me hate opening my journal. I found myself avoiding it and missing appointments because nothing stood out. So last Sunday I spent 2 hours rebuilding it with a habit tracker, a little mood dot, and some washi tape borders. My planning is way better now. Has anyone else gotten advice that pushed you in the wrong direction, and how long did it take you to go back to your own style?

The opposite advice got me once, people said add more and it just made me feel worse.
