Why does everyone obsess over monthly layouts but skip weekly spreads?
I keep seeing newbies in forums post these elaborate monthly calendars with doodles and washi tape, but they never show how they actually plan their weeks. I've been doing daily rapid logging for 3 years and found monthlies are mostly useless for tracking tasks. Has anyone else figured out that a simple weekly list beats a fancy monthly spread every time?

Yeah but monthlies give you the BIG picture. I've been rapid logging for almost four years now and I still use a monthly spread. It helps me see patterns and plan ahead without flipping through a million pages. The daily log is for the weeds, the monthly is for the sky.

Read somewhere that the person who invented the modern monthly spread called it "the theater of planning" which feels about right. I tried monthlies for a year and they were mostly just pretty decorations I never looked at again. Weeklies actually help me finish stuff so that's what I stick with.
