PSA: That $40 'premium' phone screen protector was a total waste
Bought one for my new phone, and it cracked from a tiny drop off my couch after two days. The cheap $10 one I had before lasted over a year. Anyone know a brand that actually holds up?

My cousin swore by those tempered glass ones from the mall kiosk. He paid like fifty bucks for one and it got a huge scratch from his car keys in his pocket. I mean, he was so mad because the guy made it sound like it was basically armor. I just use the generic pack of three from the big box store now.

Yeah the whole "armor" thing is such a marketing gimmick lol. I fell for it too with my last phone, paid like $45 for some brand called Zagg or whatever and it scratched from just being in the same pocket as my house keys. Honestly I think ryan_sanchez is onto something with those generic multi-packs. I've been using a cheap 4-pack from Amazon for like $8 and one of them has a hairline crack from a corner drop but my screen underneath is totally fine. The real secret is just swapping them out every few months before they get too beat up. Plus the install guide frame thing that comes with the cheap ones these days makes it way harder to mess up than those overpriced kiosk jobs where the employee always leaves a bubble anyway.

Been there. I just buy the cheap multi-packs from the brand Spigen on Amazon. They're like fifteen bucks for three, and they've saved my phone from way worse drops than a couch. The install tray they include makes it foolproof too.
