Honestly, I keep seeing people skip the test fit on face frames before glue up and it's a huge mistake. Did a job in Austin where my old boss lost a whole day fixing one that was off by 1/8".

That's a brutal way to learn a lesson. Skipping the dry fit is just asking for trouble, no matter how simple the project seems. An eighth of an inch might sound tiny, but it throws everything out of whack instantly. You end up wasting more time fixing it than you ever saved by rushing. It's one of those basic steps that feels pointless until the moment it saves your whole job.
