Hot take: those cheap router bits from the hardware store actually held up for me
Ngl, I always thought the big box store brand router bits were junk compared to the name brand stuff. But last month I grabbed a $15 set on clearance just to rough out some dados on a pine cabinet face frame. After 30 linear feet of cuts, they still cut clean with no burning. Has anyone else found a random bargain tool that surprised them?

oh hey I actually saw a youtube video where a guy tested those cheap bits vs like a $60 freud set and the cheap ones lasted pretty long on pine and poplar. the main difference was the carbide quality and how long they hold an edge on hardwoods like oak or maple. sounds like for softwood and ply they are totally fine for most jobs lmao
