Finally finished a whole house rewire 3 days ahead of schedule

I started this job last month in a 1970s house over in Oakwood, total rats nest in the attic. Took my time planning the runs and labeling everything before I pulled a single wire. Ended up wrapping up this morning, 3 full days before the deadline my boss gave me. The homeowner even offered me a beer and said he appreciated how clean everything looked. Anyone else ever get a good feeling when a messy job goes smoother than you expected?

Last house I did from that era the previous guy had mixed up half the neutral wires in the junction boxes, so I feel your pain on that attic mess. Good labeling now saves you a headache later.

That thing you said about mixed up neutrals in the old junction boxes really hits home. I swear every 70s house I've been in has at least one box where some genius tied the neutrals from three different circuits together like it was no big deal. Labeling everything before you start is the only way to keep your sanity when you find that kind of mess. It's those little surprises that make you wish you could just rewire the whole dang thing from scratch. But when it all comes together clean and the homeowner buys you a beer, that's the best feeling in this trade.
