I finally got a 1978 Nikon F2 back from a customer who tried to fix it himself.

He told me 'I just needed the right screwdriver.' The whole shutter assembly was a mess, with parts from a different camera forced in. How do you guys handle explaining why DIY fixes can go so wrong without sounding rude?

how bad could it really be" is the exact thought that gets people in trouble lol. Cameras like that are full of tiny, precise parts that look simple but aren't. Forcing the wrong piece in can wreck the whole system before you even know it.
