Guy at the REI in Boise told me my rain fly pitch was garbage, was he right?
Pitched my tent in the parking lot there last Saturday to check a seam, and this older dude walks up and says I was staking the fly too flat, so it pools water instead of shedding it. I told him I've done it this way for 6 seasons and never got wet, but now I keep second guessing it. So is he right that a steeper pitch is the move, or was he just being a know-it-all? Want to hear what the rain actually says, not the parking lot experts.
