Pro tip: A mouse chewed through my Tent Pole bag at Yosemite last June

I left my tent bag on the ground overnight and a mouse gnawed right through the fabric to get at some crumbs. Now I always hang my gear bag from a tree branch, anyone else have critter trouble with their storage?

Hard disagree on this one. Hanging bags from trees just makes them easier for raccoons to swing on and rip open. Plus you're way more likely to forget your stuff and leave it behind. A mouse ate through my food bag in the Sierra last summer because I tied it too close to a trunk where they can climb. Those little guys get into anything if they smell food, doesn't matter if it's on the ground or dangling. Just keep your pack clean and sealed up tight like I do now with a dry bag inside the tent vestibule.

My 20 foot bear hang got robbed by a pine marten that chewed the rope right through.
