inMy mentor told me to charge more for a corrective color, and I finally did it.
My old $80 color corrections taught me the same lesson.

inCan we talk about the new pressure treated pine from the yard on Route 9?
Yeah, that longer vacuum cycle makes a huge difference. We had the same issue with 2x4s for a deck frame last spring. Switched to a supplier using that method and the boards stayed put all season. Worth the extra cost for sure.

inHad a customer bring in a creaky bottom bracket I swore was loose, but the noise was actually the seatpost after I greased the threads.

Totally get what you mean about the ritual mattering less. I used to be the person who would never skip the flower water, thought it was a basic rule you just followed. But after reading your point about the arrangements holding up fine, I tried it on a few smaller orders last month. Honestly, I couldn't tell a difference in how long they lasted, and it cut out a whole step. It really does free up time. Why do we hold onto some steps so tightly if they don't change the outcome?
