Pro tip: ditch the expensive waterproofing spray and use silicone caulk instead
I got tired of my tent seams leaking after every rain, so I tried wiping a thin layer of clear silicone caulk on them with my finger. Has anyone else done this or am I crazy for trying it on a $300 tent?

Tried the same thing on my old Coleman tent that cost like fifty bucks and honestly it worked better than any spray I ever bought. Did it with my bare finger too, got silicone all over my hands for days. Worth it though because my tent stayed bone dry during a week of nonstop rain in the Smokies. Just don't breathe in too deep while you're smearing it on, that stuff smells wild. Might be crazy but hey, if it works it works right?
