Vent: My brand new camp chair decided to fold up on me like a cheap lawn chair

This happened two weekends ago at a state park. I had just bought a fancy, high-backed chair for about $60, bragging to my friends about the extra support. I sat down, leaned back to look at the stars, and the whole thing just collapsed sideways. I was on the ground in a heap of fabric and aluminum. My buddy just said, 'Nice gear, Jones.' I had to sit on a cooler for the rest of the night. Has anyone else had a chair completely fail right out of the box? What's a good, sturdy brand that won't dump me on the dirt?

My Coleman chair did the same thing last summer... felt like the whole thing was made of soda cans. It's like they design everything to break right after the warranty ends now.

Honestly makes you wonder if the cheap materials are part of the warranty math. They probably know the exact month it'll snap.

Switched to a cheap folding stool from a hardware store after my last chair broke. Thing is ugly but it's held up for two years now, no issues. Sometimes the simple stuff just works better.
