Vent: My brand new camp chair decided to fold up on me like a cheap lawn chair

This happened two weekends ago at a state park. I had just bought a fancy, high-backed chair for about $60, bragging to my friends about the extra support. I sat down, leaned back to look at the stars, and the whole thing just collapsed sideways. I was on the ground in a heap of fabric and aluminum. My buddy just said, 'Nice gear, Jones.' I had to sit on a cooler for the rest of the night. Has anyone else had a chair completely fail right out of the box? What's a good, sturdy brand that won't dump me on the dirt?

Can we talk about the new pressure treated pine from the yard on Route 9?

I used it on a big job in Oakdale last month and the difference is wild. The old stock we got would twist and cup within a week of being in the sun, especially the 6x6 posts. This new batch has been up for over three weeks now and every picket is still dead straight. I talked to the yard manager and he said they switched to a different treatment plant that uses a longer vacuum cycle. It costs about 15 bucks more per bundle, but it saves so much time on callbacks for warped boards. I'm not one to hype up new stuff, but this feels like a real change. Has anyone else tried this specific stock and seen similar results?

Finally got a clean seam on that tricky berber with a new blade trick

Had a job last week with a thick, looped berber that kept fraying at the seams, no matter how sharp my knife was. I was about to lose my mind after the third try. On a hunch, I switched to a brand new blade and made the cut with the backing side up instead of the pile side down. It sliced through like butter and left a perfect edge for the seam tape. Who would have thought flipping the material would make that much difference? Anyone else have a go-to method for those fussy loop piles?
