Found a stat about rider dropout rates in Ontario that caught me off guard
I was browsing through the Transport Canada data last night and saw that over 40% of new motorcycle riders in Ontario quit within their first year. That number seems crazy high to me, considering how many people I see on the roads every summer. Has anyone else come across stats like this and figured out what's pushing people away so fast?

Is that stat even counting people who just took a course for fun?

Forty percent seems about right if you ask me. I live in a small town and every spring you see a bunch of people park their bike on the street for a month then it just sits there until someone puts a for sale sign on it. It's like buying a treadmill in January and using it twice. Part of me thinks the stuff you have to deal with in real traffic like texting drivers and potholes scares people off once summer really hits. A buddy of mine bought a brand new Honda last April and by July he was already posting it on Facebook Marketplace.
