The resume keyword game took me 6 weeks to figure out
I kept sending out resumes for warehouse supervisor gigs and getting zero callbacks. Finally my buddy who works in HR in Toledo told me to run my resume through the job posting and match the exact words they used. I spent 6 weeks thinking my experience was the problem when it was just that I wrote 'managed inventory' instead of 'inventory optimization' like they had in the ad. Has anyone else wasted months on formatting or wording when the real fix was just copying their language?

Hold on before you spend another month chasing keywords. I get that matching words can help, but six weeks sounds like you were stuck on one thing while other stuff might have been off. Maybe your resume had a gap or your formatting was a mess, and the wording was just the easiest thing to blame. In my experience, HR folks skim for two seconds, and if they can't see your key duties fast, no keyword soup saves you. Also, some job posts are written by clueless managers who copy from other ads, so those exact words might not even matter to the actual hiring person. Take this with a grain of salt, but I'd have someone else look at your resume before you go full copy-paste mode.
